Ham & Cheese Sliders

These ham and cheese sliders on hawaiian rolls are always a crowd pleaser. They are easy and quick to assemble and are drenched in everyones real true love, BUTTER. I can’t pretend that I made this recipe up, because every wife, mom, or dinner maker from sea to shining sea takes this secret gem out of their back pocket on a busy weeknight. This recipe is the combination of ingredients I use (to be honest it really depends on if I actually have everything “in stock” at the house).

Prep Time: About 20 minutes Cook Time: 20 (ish) minutes Serves: 4-6

Ingredients:

  • 1 – 12ct package of King’s Hawaiian Rolls (any hawaiian roll brand will work!)
  • 8 to 10 oz of sliced deli ham , enough to cover the rolls, and more if you’d like them “thicc”
  • 1 package of sliced swiss cheese, again, as much as you’d like
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of honey mustard (can substitute for dijon)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 tablespoon of poppy seeds (some people put more)
  • 1 teaspoon of Worchestershire sauce

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F and butter (or spray with oil) a 9×13 or any pan that will fit your rolls.
  2. DO NOT SEPARATE YOUR ROLLS – slice the rolls in half all together like a giant sandwich bun
  3. Layer ham and cheese on the bottom half and replace the top half of the rolls
  4. In a microwave safe bowl, melt your butter then add all the seasonings and mix together
  5. Pour butter mixture over the tops of the rolls. (I also use a brush to coat them really well)
  6. Cook for 20 ish minutes or until you notice the tops of the rolls turning a gorgeous tanned brown color and the cheese is nicely melting over the edges.
  7. Once cooked, remove from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes before taking a sharp knife and cutting to separate the sliders.

We have simply demolished these sliders on so many occasions. They make a great field meal during harvest or a perfect appetizer on a game day. There are many variations of this great classic, so feel free to take this version and make it your own! I hope you and your family will enjoy them as much as we do!!
